Richard Taransky RA. FAAR, principal partner in Obus, has been in private practice since 1984.
Richard has practiced architecture with industry leaders including Stanley Tigerman FAIA (Stanley Tigerman and Associates), John Buenz FAIA (Solomon Cordwell and Buenz), Hyman Meyers FAIA (Restoration Studio at Vitteta), and the local practices of Jack Williamson AIA, Edwin Bronstein FAIA, and Jay Cooperson FAIA (Cooperson Breck).
He has taught design at The Cooper Union, Tyler, Illinois Institute of Technology, and University of Arts and was “The John G. Williams Distinguished Professor ” at The University of Arkansas, Fay Jones School of Architecture.
Richard was awarded the prestigious “Rome Prize” at The American Academy in Rome in 2000 and is a Fellow of The American Academy in Rome.
In 2016 he was given an “Emily Harvey Fellowship” for study in Venice
